Enjoy this French Malbec for only $14.99 this week!

2019 Clos La Coutale Cahors is our Wine of the Week!

Historically, the Cahors region of Southern France produced Malbec-based wines which seriously rivaled the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blends of Bordeaux. Cahors’ warm and dry summers result in beautifully ripened grapes while the complex soils guarantee expression and an array of fascinating flavors.

Owned by the Bernede family, Clos La Coutale has a reputation for making affordable and extremely drinkable wines that dates back six generations. Head winemaker, Phillipe Bernede continues the family tradition with heart and ingenuity and over the years has tinkered with the house blend to achieve a greater balance. Today, the blend consists of 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot, resulting in an intense wine that mixes elegant rusticity and everyday drinkability. Blackcurrant and prune aromas open the wine followed by an elegant palate with enticing vanilla flavors along with black fruits, pepper, and earth. This Malbec is rustic, yet fresh and juicy thanks to the touch of Merlot.

Enjoy with a hearty meat stew, burgers, or anything off the grill, and hard cheeses.

2019 Clos La Coutale Cahors is on sale all week for only $14.99 while supplies last.

Cheers!
