Pinot Blanc is making a huge comeback in the Willamette Valley!

2017 Wine By Joe Pinot Blanc is our latest Wine of the Week!

Established in 2002, Wine By Joe makes consistently good wine from Oregon’s most established Willamette Valley vineyards. The vineyard team and owner, Joe Dobbes, who has been making wine in Oregon for over twenty years, focuses on sustainable farming practices and producing the highest quality fruit.

Pinot Blanc is an under-appreciated grape that’s beloved in Alsace, France, but remains mostly obscure in the United States. However, the grape is making a big comeback in Oregon, thriving in the region’s diverse soils and cooler climate. Wine By Joe Pinot Blanc is an excellent representation of how the varietal shines outside of Alsace. It’s polished and refined with a lovely grapefruit note along with pears, lemongrass, and melon fruit. The finish is refreshing and elegant with spicy complexity.

A wonderful match with roast chicken, salads, seafood, pasta with creamy sauces, and mild cheeses.

Cheers!
